What's Your Handicap?

What a USGA GHIN Handicap Can Do for Your Golf Game

We are excited to announce that starting in 2024, Knickerbocker Country Club will implement the USGA Golf Handicap and Information Network (GHIN) Handicap System. The intention is for all members & players to use the same Handicap System.

A Handicap Index provides every golfer regardless of age, gender or skill level with a universal measure of playing ability under the World Handicap System. It makes the game more fun and enjoyable by connecting you to a community of nearly 3 million golfers.

We've outlined a few additional reasons why you should get a USGA GHIN Handicap in 2024 and what it will mean to your golf game as a whole:

Allows you to compete fairly in a number of different formats.

Whether you are playing match play, stroke play, Stableford or Four-Ball, your Handicap Index allows players of differing abilities to compete on a fair and equitable basis.

Tracks your progress and reflects your potential.

Your handicap will display your past scores, and your index will indicate what your potential could be. Each time you play  and post a score, you will receive a Handicap Index Revision the next day. You can also keep your hole-by-hole stats in the USGA GHIN Mobile App. Because an index will track your progress, you will be motivated to continue improving.

Provides easy score posting.

Your GHIN membership through KCC allows you to post scores on ghin.com, the GHIN Mobile App and any score posting kiosk. Be sure to play and post on the same day in order for the Playing Conditions Calculation to accurately be applied, if applicable. Posting on the same day also ensures that your Handicap Index is accurate for the next day of play.

Allows tournament competition for men, women, and juniors.

Your Handicap Index allows you to play in KCC tournaments and opens opportunities to compete in other events requiring a Handicap Index. KCC tournaments are open to golfers of all ages and abilities; there is something for everyone!
